Foundations in Faith

Our children & youth are at the heart of the St. Michael’s community, welcomed and involved in all aspects of our life together. From infancy through adolescence, we nurture and celebrate each of our children and their unique gifts. Here, children know that they are loved by God for who they are. Mary Ellen Lehmann is our Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries. Please contact her with any questions about Sunday school.

Elementary Children

Sundays during the 10 a.m. service

Godly Play classes are available for children in 5th grade and younger on Sundays. Children gather to hear a bible story, discuss it together and pray.

Middle School (Grades 6–8)

Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades support Children’s Worship during the 10 a.m. service as Doorkeepers. They effectively “host” children as they are invited to attend Children’s Worship, greeting them by name, and share in leading the week’s Godly Play story. All Middle Schoolers are welcome!

High School Group (Grades 9–12)

Sundays 11:15 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Want to come experience the unconditional love of God in community? Need a space to freely ask questions, express your doubts and explore your spirituality?

Join us each Sunday of the school year for High School Group where youth engage in Christian formation through relationships, community service and discussions about faith. Throughout the year, youth work with mentors who meet them where they are in their spiritual journeys and help them articulate and reclaim their personal faith. For more information, contact Mary Ellen Lehmann, Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries.

Children and Youth Choir

Meeting during the school year, the St. Michael’s Youth Choir program is entirely free, provided as a drop-off option, and available on rolling admission. Come check it out anytime. Our aim is fostering community, leadership and Episcopal identity through choral singing. Choristers receive a solid a foundation in healthy vocal technique, comprehensive musicianship training as well as friendships to last a lifetime. Youth Choirs sing at Sunday 10 a.m. services about once monthly.
