Children and Youth

Nurturing the Faith through Future Generations

Foundations in Faith

Our children & youth are at the heart of the St Michael’s community, welcomed and involved in all aspects of our life together. From infancy through adolescence, we nurture and celebrate each of our children and their unique gifts. Here, children know that they are loved by God for who they are. Andrea Dedmon is Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries. Please contact her with any questions about Sunday school.

Elementary Children

Word Made Young is a worship service of story, song and prayer for kids ages 4-8. We meet every Sunday at 10:00 am as the Parish participates in the Liturgy of the Word, the first part of the service of Holy Eucharist. Kids create something that will be part of the story they will hear about God. Kids return to their parents during the Passing of the Peace and celebrate Holy Eucharist with the whole parish.

Sunday School Classes are available for children in Pre-K through grade 5 following the 10:00 am service on Sundays from September through the beginning of June. Children gather by the Chapel of the Angels during the final hymn, and an adult shepherd takes them to their classrooms. Parents pick up their children from the classrooms at 12:15 pm.

Middle School Group (Grades 6-8)

Sundays 11:15 AM-12:00 PM

Students in 6th, 7th and 8th grades gather on Sundays after the 10:00 am service till 12:15 pm to talk about their lives, play games, serve others, ask questions and connect it all with our Christian faith. We also get together for pizza parties and other fun weekend events at various points in the year.

High School Group (Grades 9-12)

Sundays 11:45 AM-12:00 PM

Want to come experience the unconditional love of God in community? Need a space to freely ask questions, express your doubts and explore your spirituality? Want some pizza?

Join us each Sunday of the school year for High School Group where youth engage in Christian formation through relationships, community service, discussions about faith, social outings, retreats and more. Throughout the year, youth work with mentors who meet them where they are in their spiritual journeys and help them articulate and reclaim their personal faith. For more information, contact Andrea Dedmon.
