Dear St. Michael’s Family,
This week, we commence our second pledge drive to occur under these strange and evolving pandemic circumstances, titled “Giving in Gratitude.” On October 24th, we were reminded just how much we have to be grateful for when we came together in a powerful and moving remembrance of the people and ministry of St. Jude’s Chapel.
While a full return to normal remains frustratingly elusive, we are grateful also for every new privilege — the return of the full choir, the recent return to congregational singing, the use of any pew in the sanctuary without a reservation, the mask-optional social hour on Amsterdam Avenue.
We’re also grateful for the opportunities that have blossomed during the pandemic like Sacred Ground, small groups, and the newfound connectivity we have on Zoom.
Our financial position in the waning days of the pandemic is stronger than it was at the outset, owing to the continued pledge support of the people of St. Michael’s, the strength of our investments, the cemetery, and our other sources of income. For this, we are also grateful.
I invite you to learn more about our pledge drive by attending a parish town hall after the 10:00 am service on November 14th.
Please join me in pledging your support to St. Michael’s in 2022. The simple act of pledging, in any amount, is a mark of our commitment to our shared community. When you are ready to pledge, you may do so on our website, or on a paper pledge form available in the sanctuary.
