Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don’t have to have a college degree to serve. You don’t have to make your subject and your verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love.
–Martin Luther King Jr.
Our community is both within and outside the walls of St. Michael’s. Our community is colorful fabric woven with diverse strands and bound together with care and love. Our community becomes stronger as we open our hearts to each other and reach out a helping hand to those in need.
The Saturday Kitchen and the Pilgrim Resource Center are social ministries addressed to those in need. Our ministry of hospitality seeks to promote health and wholeness, and the building of community. Through these ministries we ‘strive for justice and peace and respect.’ Participation, we believe, offers each person and group a way of entering into a process of social change in faith.
