Westside Wednesdays (Sept. - May)

‘Westside Wednesdays’ is St. Michael’s prime mid-week gathering time. From 3:45pm when our outstanding children’s choirs begin rehearsing until 9pm when the last ‘Amen’ of Compline blends with the tower bells’ final peal of the evening, the Parish House is alive with activity!

 

Bistro St. Michel

The Bistro begins serving dinner at 6pm and continues until at least 7:30pm, enabling downtown workers to join their families and friends at candle-lit tables for unhurried dining and conversation. One of Bistro’s most important missions is to provide a comfortable and inviting place for you to bring your friends and neighbors for a meal and an introduction to St. Michael’s. Our chef, Ray Luetters, prepares a delicious meal for your enjoyment every Wednesday ($8 for adults, $4 for children under 12, and free for children under 5. Beer and wine are also available for $2 per glass.).

 

 

Evening Formation Opportunities 
Centering Prayer Group meets in the Chapel of the Angels from 6:30 – 7pm, and provides a wonderful time of quiet in the midst of a busy week.

Social Concerns Discussion – Issues of Peace and Justice meets at 7:30pm. The conversation addresses current local and global issues from the Christian perspective. Outside speakers will also be called upon to meet with the group and further stimulate the conversation. The group meets from 7:30–8:30pm.

Simply Christian, led by Kate Flexer, is a 10-week class on the basics of Christianity. The series will be offered in the fall beginning October 3, and in the spring beginning March 26, from 7:00 – 8:30pm.

The Rector will be offering a 12-week series on gospels beginning May 7, from 7 - 9pm.

Compline

The Adult Choir sings at the end of the evening’s activities, at 8:30pm. The ancient monastic order of Compline takes place in the Chapel of the Angels. This quiet, reflective service provides a fitting way to end the evening.
 

Choir Rehearsals

The St. Cecilia Choir (Grades 3 – 8) rehearses with Jonathan De Vries from 3:45 – 5pm. A parent supervised Study Hall is provided for St. Cecilia choristers from 5:15 – 6pm.

The Angel Choir (Grades K– 2) rehearses with Jonathan De Vries from 5:15 – 6pm.

The adult St. Michael's Choir rehearses with John Cantrell from 7 – 9pm.

 

Childcare

Nursery care is available for children under age 6 from 6 – 8pm in our Nursery.
