The purpose of the Altar Guild is to prepare and have in place all the things essential for the celebration of the Eucharist or any other offices of the church namely baptisms; weddings; funerals and morning and evening prayer.

Additional responsibilities of the Altar Guild is the purchase of communion wafers; altar wine; candles and altar linen as well as the maintenance of altar linens and silver; clergy, choir and acolyte vestments.

For this reason this ministry has been called "holy homework". It is an interesting and rewarding ministry enabling one to learn more about the worship of almighty God as it is done in the Episcopal Church.
