Director of Children’s and Youth Ministries; Rector’s Assistant
Andrea Dedmon has been working at St. Michael’s since the spring of 2011. She leads our children’s worship service: Word Made Young; coordinates our Sunday school and other ministries with children and youth; co-leads the High School Group; creates the bulletin; provides administrative support to Mother Kate; and a myriad of other things. She is passionate about sharing God’s Good News with young people and accompanying kids as they grow up in the church. Andrea aims to strengthen and expand the community at St. Michael’s in the work she does in the church office.
Andrea holds a Master of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary, a Diploma in Anglican Studies from the General Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies (Summa Cum Laude) from Kenyon College. Andrea grew up in Dallas, Texas where she began attending Episcopal schools at the age of six, and she graduated from high school at Chatham Hall, an Episcopal girls’ boarding school in southern Virginia. She lives in Hamilton Heights with her calico cat, Sophie, and enjoys biking and anything that has to do with masks and puppets.
